With increasing number of b-schools, the competition has intensified. With more b-schools accepting the GRE and GMAT score, the upheaval to choose between the two has also mounted. Difference between the GRE and the GMAT

Verbal section

In GRE, the verbal section is more focused on the vocabulary. On the other hand, the GMAT puts more stress on logic, grammar and the reasoning skills. Both the tests are designed for native English speakers, but the GRE is likely to be in support of those with a strong knowledge of English. Mathematics

On one hand, GRE mathematics lays focus on quick number sense and the manipulation of numbers. On the other hand, the math section in GMAT needs, creating a planned approach in order to answer the word problems. For getting admission into a business school, you will have to show up your quantative background. In case, one comes from a weak quantative background, in that case, he/she has to rely on the GMAT or the GRE to show the quantative skills. Decide according to the math ability while choosing to take the tests.

If an aspirant is seeking a dual degree such as a Masters in Business Administration/Master of Public Policy degree, then go for GRE as you will have to take only one test.
